Bridging the Divide

I had written about my friend Einat, an architect-planner, and lecturer at the Technion (Israel Institute of Technology), Tel Aviv.

Last year, Einat sent me a video clip of a project of two of her students.

Its called: Bridging the Divide - The Separation Wall.

Presented by Mounir Totry, Amani Mansour.

The video seemed to be implicitly paraphrasing the celebrated Norwegian voyager Thor Heyerdahl's statement on borders:

"The Wall – I have seen one, but I have heard it doesn’t exist in the minds of some people."

Walls that exist on ground can be broken down. Butthe walls that exist in the minds are hard to break. Let us try for that. No?

Fascinating post. As I viewed the clip, all I could say is "Wow." I then looked at the clip again and contemplated what your post means for all of us. Thank you for sharing this.

Thank you Rama for exhibiting this wonderful project. The most incredible thing about this process was learning that there were no walls between us Israeli-jewish teachers and them Israeli-Arab students (three religions gathered every time around the table!). I think that the mutual respect between us all proved over and over again that there are no walls because they are not needed.

:) Great! I would love the walls to be gone but in the mean time this is one good pragmatic idea. Thanks for Sharing!

a wounderfull work , very sensitive , in my opinion you succeed to change the exicting meaning of the wall to a new or defrent way of thinking .
i hope every wall will get down betwean all the human beings.....

Live and LET Live
