Gandhi certainly would not have used media that negated his message.

It is cheap, it is nasty, suggesting that modern telecoms could have helped spread a certain message. Yes of course, but also messages of hate, pornography and so on.
If Gandhi were alive today, Telecom Italia would have had to pay him sponsorship fees. Would he have accepted?
Mother Theresa, from a different tradition but like Mahatma Gandhi also considered a saint, was content to accept donations for her work from criminals who sought redemption through good works. As a naive Catholic she was happy to assist their act of reparation and repentance in this way. Would she have accepted a sponsorship fee from Telecom Italia?
