Yesterday was my sister Shyama’s birthday. She turned 40. Shyama is a political scientist, and works with a think tank in New York. This is the first time since she went to America 20 years ago that she is home on her birthday.
Shyama’s husband Tom, also a political scientist, is a civil servant in the school education sector. Rohan, 5, is a naughty vogue (you know, like a vuffian). Naina, 11 months, is a darling princess. She started walking on this visit to Calcutta.
